October Commitment + Complete
Decided to paint a mini "just for fun" this weekend outside of HPC. "Scales" recently got back from London (did you hear he went to warhammer world??) and was nice enough to carry back a contemptor dreadnought for me.
I always liked it, but after building it I feel forgeworld just nocked it out of the park with this one and I will feel a bit sad building regular dreadnoughts in the future!
I chose to paint it up as Raptors, because I fell in love with their background and colour scheme from IA:3. I painted this guy up to represent Captain Kaedes of the raptors 6th company who was killed on Taros by the Tau and interred inside a dreadnought shortly after.
I will keep this thread going as I plan to work on bits and pieces alongside my HPC projects this summer.
I used weathering powders for the first time and really liked some of the effects that they can create, as well as using Valejo Surface Primer and Wash (Fantastic stuff!) for the airbrush to do the green. The green is done straight over the bare resin and then washed, so it would be possible to knock these guys out very quickly...
