Display Boards

Post by Loopy » Tue Mar 03, 2015 5:45 am

Hello, all. I've been ill the past few days, so I apologize if this sounds rude, but I just need to be succinct and get back to bed. Display boards are not proper commitments. They are an additional achievement on top of all the other stuff you are doing.

Commitments:
1 Warhammer 40,000 or Horus Heresy unit. Only 2 of these units may be an Independent Character. All other units must be either be a significant unit of infantry, vehicle(s), monstrous creature(s), bikes, or the like. What constitutes "significant", of course, is subjective, but try to keep them reasonable... 1 Rhino, 1 Daemon Prince, 3 Obliterators, 5 to 10 Tactical Marines, 3 to 6 bikes, etc. While 1 Attack Bike technically counts as a single Unit, it's not quite in the spirit of "significant".

1 significant piece of terrain. What constitutes “significant” is subjective, but imagine any Games Workshop kit would be considered a legal Commitment (1 Bastion, 2 Vengeance Batteries, 4 Quake Cannon Craters, 1 Woods, etc). If you use this as your guide, it should be easy to figure out what works. You may only count the table cover itself as 1 entry.

4 Battlefleet Gothic "units". A squadron of at least 3 Escorts counts as a BFG unit.
Note that, for terrain, the "Table Cover" does count as 1 entry. This would be AT LEAST a 4'x4' piece.

Thanks,
=Adam=

Loopy, I'm considering picking up a TableWar case at the moment.

I am not sure if you have seen them (probably have) but the parts where the models go are small magnetized space (about 6.5 inches by 6.5 inches) where the models go into after they are magnetized in.

I am considering getting the case, then for each unit I have doing one of the sections and painting/flocking the stuff on it so that it is both a travel case and display board. You can see Les at AwesomePaintJob do what I am talking about here: http://www.tablewar.com/les-from-awesom ... -to-guide/

Probably for larger units here: http://www.tablewar.com/les-from-awesom ... -to-video/

I figure that I could buy one case and make these little movable unit trays for all of them, which would make putting my armies on the shelf, and switching them out a lot easier. I just wanted to see if this would count for my display board if I did so.

Thanks, and thanks for running this, having a blast!

Yeah. If you put forth a sincere effort inn your table war trays, that would work fine for me as a display board.
