This is my first attempt at the hobby progress challenge. I was going to do a Crimson Fist army, but I've always wanted a huge imperial guard army. There is something about a horde of infantry marching forward being supported by tanks and artillery that defines war. My list is pretty basic, but i was going for the imperial mind set when i made the list. I wanted to throw so many bodies at the enemy that they would run out of bullets before they killed them all.

Greetings Bullet_Sponge and welcome to the Hobby Progress Challenge.

You have a great start to your Imperial Guard Army and I like your approach to the challenge. I am looking forward to seeing your painted works.

Also I must ask- what changes if any are you planning or thinking of doing with the new Codex?

Welcome to the challenge, bullet_sponge! What do you have on deck for your April commitment.

Oh, and if you have any questions about the real Yuma, just ask Skip. He knows all about it.

Let's just say your army needs lots of Snowbirds.

Skip, I know all about Yuma. I'm stationed here. I don't know what changes I'm going to make. Maybe adding some Commisars or some ogryns

Most groovy bud. I got a teaching job down here (Originally from New York).

I think you hit the nail on the head concerning adding in some Commissars and Ogryns- both of those units from what I have heard are most solid in the new Codex. Especially if you run a primarily infantry heavy list.

Send me a PM if you ever get the chance to get in a small game. I know that there are a couple of 40k players in town that meet at the local game store every Saturday (I'm going to start small- at 500pts to 1k until I get into the groove of things a bit better).

I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your Astra Militarum army. Do you have a specific color scheme chosen yet?

I just finished my heavy weapons squad. They turned out pretty good. Now for the hard part, all the infantry

Awesome looking Guard so far bud.

I like the red and grey color scheme with the basing you have chosen- the models really pop! Keep up the good work!
