2015 HPC - BlaineThPain's - Necrons & Terrain U:06/30

Post by BlaineThPain » Wed Jan 14, 2015 8:21 pm

I needed to get a start on my 2015 HPC work for a tournament in a few weeks. My plans for this year are more Necron reinforcements, and more importantly finishing off a whole lot terrain.

I don't want to really plan out my list since I tend to just work on whatever's catching my interest at the moment (plus the HPC rules aren't posted yet..).

That being said, here's what I know I'll be working on..

Necron Reinforcements
HQ:
220 Kutlakh January Goal Completed (but in January, so it doesn't count)
120 Varguard Obyron - March Goal, Completed
Elite:
130 10x Flayed Ones Completed (but in January, so it doesn't count)
240 C'Tan Shard of the Nightbringer - Goal wasn't posted, Completed
Troops:
085 5xImmortals (Gauss)
085 5xImmortals (Gauss)
Fast:
120 3xDestroyer - Goal wasn't posted, Completed
Lord of War:
190 - Imotekh the Stormlord - July Goal

Scratch-Build Pieces
Industrial Tankers
4x Necron Obilisks - April Goal
Necron Power Generator - March Goal - Completed!

January's Commitments :
Kutlakh (pic to be posted later) Completed
10x Flayed Ones

Good luck this year! I'll be working on adding some Necron forces to my existing army, so hopefully we can keep each other motivated

Waaaaay better models than the fine cast version. I'm hoping we see a new plastic kit for flayed ones this year, but sadly it doesn't look like it will be happening with the codex release.

Agree, those finecast ones are terrible.

We might not see a release in plastic with the codex, but if you've seen that interesting new FOC chart, and the option to have a predominately Flayed Ones army, we might see an expansion release later on in the year to go with those rules. I'm hopeful at least because I've always liked the idea of Flayed Ones, but they've been pretty terrible to use and the few times I've had them on the table they've died quickly and done next to nothing.

Ahh, running Flayed Ones! I'm interested in this, my newest army is Necrons and I've been looking for a fun way to paint them up that looks believable but not Ironbreaker > Nuln Oil > done.

I was hoping there would be a Flayed One Cult or Destroyer Virus book coming out with the Necron book release but all there was with the special release codex is a map and some datasheets unfortunately. Hopefully they'll expand on it in the future.

What Finecast Flayed ones? There are no Finecast Flayed ones. And if there were horrible, terrible, awful Finecast, I would refuse to admit that they existed!
