Speaking of gigantic and ridiculous:
I've wanted to do a Knight for a while, and after getting the Renegade box set at NOVA and doing some homework on Knight schemes, I found one I really liked from Epic:

So began a project that was kind of a nightmare at every opportunity, from primers not matching paints, to paints not covering, to sourcing decals and then having those transfers rip and fall apart, to my cat knocking the damn thing over and breaking it more than once, but it's finally done and I'm finally happy with it. Joke's on me for choosing a primarily yellow color scheme, I guess:

I even painted LAKAR on the chestplate upside down and had to rewrite it, proving no step of this project was safe from frustration:

Base deets:

And you can bet I magnetized everything! I actually had a lot of fun doing that:

And all the bits:

Thanks!

I was at the new Warhammer store in town and I split the Leman Russ/Techpriest box with a new friend. I painted this guy up real quick, and he was a fun model to boot:

Your free hand is incredible. I can't believe those black checks have white outlines.

Thank you! I had some Fallout Hobbies stencils I used for the checkerboards, but I still had to fill in a fair bit myself just to make sure the checkers were flush. A knight without checks just feels wrong to me!

I've just been bouncing around and painting characters lately, and I got around to painting one of my favorite old Daemonhunters sculpts:

Good to see some of my fave minis in one of my fave threads :) especially so well-painted

those old-school inquisition models are excellent. Remember the Frateris Militia, from the same era? I'm toying with collecting a few of those for a small inquisitorial allied detachment - could be a cool addition to your team too!
