Re: RichMarine - Sons of Horus reavers WIP

WIP continued. Decals added to reavers. Now onto the dreadclaw. I'll flatten all the infantry once the dreadclaw is complete. Can smell the end of this! Hope everyone's getting on well with theirs.

All done. Finished the SoH this morning. Took some quick photos this morning, they are a bit blury and dark. I'll try and take some better pictures later. Dropping the misses off at the airport  she's off to Australia for 3 weeks.

Some more pictures.

For 2000 points I think I'm going to drop the consul to get the praetor in. The reavers I've armed with combi Melta and power fists assaulting out of the dreadclaw to eliminate high valve targets.

The praetor and terminator squad will assualt out of the Storm eagle.

The rest of the army will slog it out on foot with the volkite cavalier squad supporting in the back field with its 30" range. The strength 6 heavy 2 shots can make short work of any light to medium armour.

I really want to get some proper heavy support and maybe some more terminators to get the army up to 2500 and beyond.

That is a beautiful looking army man. Well done.

Awesome army! That's the first time I've ever seen a Dreadclaw on a stand (I haven't seen any in the wild). Is that how it normally goes or is that something you did on your own?

That's an awesome army. Congratulations.

FYI, at a recent narrative event I held with 10 players, there featured 4 super heavy typhons and 4 spartan tanks... and this was at 2k points. So have a think about how you will handle those in the first few turns before your flyers come on :)

I look forward to seeing more of your army ;)

It comes with a small part with a slot on it that mounts to the top of the flight stand. The fin of the drop pod then slots into it. It's really quite sturdy for a forge world model.

Yep a spartan wouldn't go amiss. It's something I want. Along with some more termies with chain fists.

Wow, what an awesome army!

And thanks for the close-up of the drop pod!
