I think that it would look spectacular for pictures, but once you start to play with the model....
It's going to get strands broken left and right and might look odd.
Don't know man, guess it just depends upon use. It looks like it would be pretty intense to try and set up with all that stuff.

If you don't mind it getting wrecked during play time, I say go for it. It would look pretty sweet with the paint job you've done so far. Looks like that guy glossed up the model quite a bit too, to make it look slick and gooey.

Either way, I think yours looks amazing as is.

Hive Guard are done for May. I finished these guys a while ago with the hopes of getting a head start on the little bugs. Instead I worked on my imperial fists and terrain

So no hobby progress update but a bit of good news. I went to a recent tournament on Saturday and ended up getting 3rd place with my nids. It was a tournament of 16 and I was pretty excited since I have never placed before.

My list was:
Winged Hive Tyrant with Twin-Linked Devourers and Hive Commander

2x Tervigons with Crushing Claws, 3 psychic powers, adrenal glands and toxin sacs

10 Termagants with fleshborers

10 Termagants with devourers

2 units of 2 zoanthropes

3 hive guard

25 Hormagaunts

1 Trygon

The most epic moment of the tournament was my tervigons unleashing 14 str 10 ap 2 attacks on a wraithknight, felling it on the 1st turn. A second wraithknight charged the pair and faced the same result. All games were extremely hard fought and I was biting my nails the entire time

Instead of my second squad of Zoanthropes I decided to use 8 yamrgl genestealers for my august goal. I change the list in my 1st post to reflect this as well

Thanks chaos, I appreciate it. I may still do some cleanup and highlighting but I'm happy how they have turned out. I'm especially thrilled I have actually been getting units done. I take forever on my Imperial Fists, so assembly line painting has been refreshing (in ways at least ;) )

I missed August's deadline but here's September's entry. Apologies for the poor pics.

Skillful paint work and imaginative bases. What more could you ask for?

Oooh. Definitely liking how the genestealers' nearly monochromatic "hides" contrast with the brightly colored bases.
Survival is no birthright, but a prize wrested from an uncaring galaxy by forgotten heroes. Study the alien, the better to kill it.
