and for March, I will start on the Infantry here is my before picture:
(I'm going to commit to 1 Fire Warrior squad and the Pathfinders
but if I get more than that done it will be a nice bonus)

I decided to prime the whole lot of infantry with my airbrush. I was out of the primer I would normally use for this; so I used GW Imperial Primer. It works but was a pain, and took way longer than it should have. From how on I'm sticking to Vallejo Surface Primer. As luck would have it my new bottle of vallejo primer arrived 5 minutes after I finished these.

Slow progress this month...
I just put the cloth color on the fire warriors & pathfinders:

and started on the test model for the pathfinders:

And I just read the latest batch of tau rumors... just a few weeks away; but I'm not sure I like what I've read for some of the changes, others seem very good.

this is a little ranty, feel free to ignore, I just need to get this out of my system.

New broadside sculpt but still the old crisis suits... that figures after I converted my broadsides.

and I forgot how much I hate painting firewarriors, so slow and the gun molded onto the arm makes it difficult to paint the chest armor.

I'm not really sure how I feel about an MC for Tau, I'd kind of prefer some sort of mobile fire base; like hovering platform (even if it's slow moving) for infantry that seems more Tau'ish to me.

Now the Riptide does look very cool, but I'm going to hold off until I see the stats. I do really like the rumord "divert power" mechanism, very Titan-ish. And any weapon up upgrade _from_ a rail-cannon for has to be pretty amazing.

I'm out... at least for now.
I love the Tau, but I'm just not feeling it right now; probably because of the uncertainty of what I'll want from the new units. And I don't really want to spend time on models I won't use or models I don't enjoy painting. Plus I think I may still be burnt out from the last hobby progress challenge.

Hopefully in a few months I'll pick this back up.
I'm still going to painting my Tau, but I'm just not making any commitments to it.

I'm with you. I'll keep working on painting my Tau army, but doing so as part of the hobby challenge isn't fun. I'm not so worried about all the new Tau kits coming out next month. Nothing on my list will be out of the codex, but seeing all the people who are excellent painters showing off their commitments months in advance is just demoralizing and makes me not want to paint at all.

Not sure I get it, the new Tau codex should inspire you to paint models that will be playable. All kinds of good stuff down the pipe.

Finish up as you please, your commitments could be as small as assembling, the lofty goal is just getting to the finish line with 1850 painted.
