Here is my Librarian. I spent extra time on him, trying out some new techniques. The sword effect was achieved by following BuyPainted's YouTube tutorial. I'll put some words down on the parchment and small banners later on. I was thinking about adding object source lighting (OSL) off the sword and onto the right side of the mini, but the sword and shield are magnetized, and my next choice of weapons might not be purple.

You shouldn't host images on Photobucket; they only allow images to eat up so much bandwidth before nobody can see them anymore, and have a host (see what I did there) of problems. For instance, I can't see that Librarian because the images are broken! Host images on Dakka's gallery or on imgur or something; I really want to see more of your models!

I fixed the links in my previous post. Here's my work in progress Razorback.

My Razorback will have to wait till July. I have been looking at new weathering techniques online, and have to set up some test panels to better understand how to get similar results.

It's been a pretty uneventful month. I did flip my ATV at work, and hyperextended my left wrist halfway through July. Such is life. I did what I could to at least get this months entries table top ready, that's three colors no thrills. They are a bit of a disappointment, I deserve that much. I'm feeling better now, and will finish detailing out July's entries next month.

I'm also including my entries for August. I'm putting together 3 drop pods.

Finished my 3 drop pods this morning. They are table top ready. This marks the end of my Hobby Progress Challenge. While my entire army is not painted to display level, all my miniatures are painted to table top level, good enough.

I will be taking the army out for the first time this weekend at Celesticon in Fremont, CA. I enjoyed taking the challenge this year, and will definitely be in it again in 2014. Good luck to everyone that entered, and thank you all for sharing your armies with the rest of us on this forum.

Curious, what blue color range are you using? Some of your highlights end up looking light blue and I really like it.

@Woozl I use an airbrush to apply my basecoat and highlights. I use a regular brush to do my line highlighting. Here are the colors I used:

Undercoat - Black
Basecoat - Dark Sea Blue Vallejo Model Air or Dark Prusia Blue Vallejo Model Color (VMC)
1st HL - Enchanted Blue Games Workshop (GW)
2nd HL - Hawk Turquoise (GW)
3rd HL - Ice Blue (GW)
4th HL - White (VMC)
5th line HL - Space Wolf Grey (GW)

Head to Arsies' Blog to see his tutorial on how to paint Ultramarines.
