Those storm troopers look amazing! Really cool!
You make the black highlighting look easy. (;゜0゜)
Oh yeah time for a big kit, let's see what happens with that vendetta; a plastic one no less! ; )

Nice. These folks are prepared for some serious covert ops. I can't wait to see what you do with the flyer.

Oh, and if you need some Noseart for your Vendetta, let me know. I'll send you a couple of photos.

Okay, this is ... well, Bob Ross would be proud.
So, my go to primer has failed me for the first time. As usual, it was an issue of user error, not product failing. I hadn't accounted for the change in temperature and the intense moisture in the air living by the ocean... yeah, I'm aware of how that last bit sounds, but oh well, live and learn. The result was getting a textured surface all over the model. I decided to try using a gem sanding block (very fine grit) to knock down some of the texture in the more visible areas. Thankfully, it sort of worked.
Anyway, the catastrophe looked like this:

While sanding down the crusty black primer, I noticed another obvious bonus. All of the edges, where I would have taken hours edge highlighting, were picked out by the sanding. I took the airbrush to the model and started placing all the highlights. After the airbrush, I was looking at starting the brush work of picking out the crisp edges of the vehicle... thankfully, I decided to take the sanding block back to those sharp edges. Holly poop! 5 minutes (or less) later, edge highlighting done.
Ready for real detail work?

Now, this won't work with a warmer palette of colors, but I think it would work with almost any cool color. Certainly seemed to work with black?
Comments?
