Tau actually took a bit of a hit, but dataslates formations are becoming more common place so that fireblade cadre is starting to looking good. All that preferred enemy power armour and interceptor is a great way to counter the drop pods and other reserve heavy armies.

Fire warriors are starting to look better than before, and kroot are still pretty beasty for their points.

Kroot took a big hit now that sniper rifles are no longer rending.

Honestly, I like being able to build armies anyway I want to. I like armies with low model counts and they are viable in this edition. More daemons equals less shooting in general and vehicles being tougher let troops last a little longer.

Also, assault seems to be a thing again.

We had a 7th tournament not so long ago at my local club with 20 players in the end using 6th and there was a big variety of armies being played and all with mixed successes.

But I ran a CSM army with deamon allies that focused around a Slannesh Dakka deamon using spells, vector stike & the Slaanesh greater reward to have an assault 2D6 weapon each turn.

With the flying MC changes I could just fly about and cast pivotal psychic powers against my opponents (cherry picking the spell type to suit the army) and then shooting up stuff.

Was really effective new way to use DP's I found
