DE Raider for my Banshees

Post by Esirenus » Tue Sep 16, 2014 12:17 pm

So a friend of mine had an old Dark Eldar Raider they didn't want and I thought I'd pick it up to use with my Eldar army as an unbound way for my Banshees to do some useful open-top assaultin'.

Have any of you tried this tactic? How'd it work?

Since I don't have any DE at the moment, I really wanted to paint the raider to fit into my Iybraesil army -- as if it were commandeered and recommissioned. Wondering if any of you have done something similar. If so, some visual inspiration would be great ;)

This will work once DE come out and have raiders in their fast attack slot. Right now, unbound or no, you can't start in someone's dedicated transport.

Hmmm. Thanks Cicero.

That's not how I understood the rules. I guess I'll need to go back and look. What would change that such a move would be permitted if the vehicle were in the fast attack slot rather than a transport? I thought unbound lists were anything goes.

Anything goes as far as force org is concerned, but you still need to purchase complete units... Cannot take one necron warrior or a land speeder storm etc without getting it through the unit entry.

This being said I am planning a technically illegal iron warriors khorne berzerker drop pod army... If your group is happy with it then play the way you want :)

Ooooooh. I see what you mean.

Yeah. It'll be great if they change that, but if not -- yeah. I'm not above bending the rules in order to smash my fiance in some GarageHammer. ;-)

Read this and his break down of why it does / does not work as you think:

Oh thanks, notsoevil!

So if I take a turn to load the ladies into the raider, I'm good to go. That I can do.

Now to puzzle out a paint scheme....

Oh yes, definitely. I plan to do the same.

And like cicero said, if it moves into Fast Attack instead of Dedicated Transport, you won't have to spend that round loading. If I understand the rules correctly.

But yeah, ask your group, they'd probably be fine with it.
