Re: Base Size

Well, GW has made it clear that as long as you are basing for aesthetic reasons, and not trying to gain an advantage tactically - they really don't care. So, I've been looking at the footprint of the model. If the model is hanging off the base - I step up to 32mm. Take the new genestealer cult model...

Re: Custom transfer sheets?

Yeah - custome shoulder pads is one of the main reasons I bought two sets of the Dark Vengence Boxset for my DA army ;) Lot easier to paint those suckers than use transfers :)

It also lets you put definition on the icon.

Course, that is expensive ;)

Re: Custom transfer sheets?

Which icon are you looking for? They already do some rather close to GW icons: http://www.fallouthobbies.com/decals/

Fallout Hobbies should be just what you are looking for: http://www.fallouthobbies.com/custom

I've never used their custom option - nor I have I used their decals. So, you might want to research them. I HAVE used their basic stencils and find them terrific.

Re: Episode 146 - The 2016 Warhammer 40k Year in Review

It's specifically intended to be the miniatures version of an icon John Blanche sketch. Oh, I know - I remember when that art came out. But, I think we all can agree the art epitomizes 70s van art - Or to quote my friends "Check it out! Dee Snyder in a push up bra!" 40k artwork has come a long way ...

Re: Episode 146 - The 2016 Warhammer 40k Year in Review

I think that GW is missing out on opportunities to bring more people in and enhance their bottom-line if they would offer alternatives that don't cater to a traditional 16-26 straight-male mindset (with a 1970s/80s vibe). They have an opportunity with the new Sisters. We'll see. Ah - so I'm not the...

Re: Episode 146 - The 2016 Warhammer 40k Year in Review

I think it would be an amazingly great army - I've thought blending them with the Toughest Girls might make a really nice mixed attempt at a Sisters+Imperial Guard list...

Re: Episode 146 - The 2016 Warhammer 40k Year in Review

If you stick with GW models? Yep. And as a girl, I find it rather frustrating. BUT, there are really nice models out there from third parties, and a few don't have skin tight armor: http://product-images.highwire.com/6712110/female-arcadians-1.jpg I swear, if I don't get a box of plastic sisters tro...

Re: HPC 2017 - Prodigalson's War Against Grey Plastic

You've inspired me to take an inventory of everything I have - just so I know how big Everest really is. And I think I'll just ignore the boxes of Reaper Bones minis under the table ;) Well, except the clockwork dragon. He very much needs to be painted soon...
