Re: Episode 158 - Updates from the 41st Millennium

A question on the Primaris Marines: What would you tell a new player to get (or a player whose new to Space Marines)? You've stated in the past that you think one day the standard Marine kits will go away, and I'm pretty sure I agree with you. But at the moment if you just went with Primaris kits, y...

Re: Episode 157 - Further Impressions of The New Edition

Great show, as always. Following some of your questions, admittedly a good bit less positive than you guys are in some aspects. 1. Will this mean me playing more 40K? Nope. First, I liked 7th Edition (enough that the commentary on 7th toward the end of its life got a little grating). But more than t...

Re: Episode 155 - The New Warhammer 40,000: Initial Impressions

I'm definitely enjoying 8th, but I'm noticing that the movement phase has gone from critical to...meh?

Re: Episode 155 - The New Warhammer 40,000: Initial Impressions

I wonder how much of it was difficulty with not wanting to invalidate anyone's army, and yet still be able to get stuff out there. I would have liked it better if Cawl had been in Trazyn's cube, and was released at the same time as Greyfax. At least it would make more sense that he knew stuff and d...

Re: Episode 155 - The New Warhammer 40,000: Initial Impressions

I'll admit, despite being mostly positive about GW for the past year or so, I'm one of the people not thrilled with the fluff. Not because I don't like what's happening, but because as you note, it changes a lot of the tone. I like my Imperium a little scrappy, trying to hold together against a tide...

Re: Episode 152 - The Horus Heresy Book 7: Part 1

It happened in 3rd edition. The reality is that it hasn't really happened to the majority of people playing the game today Yeah...as someone who played Sisters of Battle and Dark Angels since 3rd, I thought the "There's a new edition coming out, of course the codexes are going to get invalidat...

Re: Episode 150 - Adapting to Edition Change

And you shouldn't be able to put a tank on a landing pad. And yes, I'm complaining about that last one... The dark and terrible part of me once considered using the foam cut-out for a Eldar Scorpion box from KR to build a "Skyshield Landing Pad" with exactly the footprint of said super-he...

Also you can totally tell Carl is in IT as he starts getting worried about electronic codexes as a version control problem.

Re: Episode 150 - Adapting to Edition Change

While I am sorry the episode didn't work for you, I am going to disagree that this was a "Lets complain about the rules". The rules, they are changing. Without a doubt this is going to occur. What we wanted to do was talk about not only the rules that initially were met with a lot of nega...

Re: Episode 150 - Adapting to Edition Change

To me, the episode sounded like the first podcast of Lords and Heroes. Lots of talk about how the current AoS is more streamlined than 40K and how much better 40K will be when it's more like AoS. The episode did accomplish two things for me, 1.) I want to play AoS and 2.) I'm really looking forward...
